Keith Jarrett - Standards Live (1985/2021) [24-96]

Each curvaceous line brings a lifetime of movement, of study, and of passion to bear on the music at hand. And with these six standards resurrected to such profound levels, there’s nothing not to like.

Keith Jarrett - Mysteries: The Impulse Years 1975-1976 (4 CD, 1996/FLAC)

Mysteries: The Impulse Years 1975-1976 is a four CD collection of the Keith Jarrett albums Mysteries, Shades, Byablue and Bop-Be. The set was released in 1996 by Universal Music Group. Previously unreleased alternate takes are present on each disc.

The music was performed by Jarrett and his affectionately-titled 'American Quartet', composed of Charlie Haden, Paul Motian, and Dewey Redman. Guilherme Franco contributed additional percussion to Mysteries and Shades.

Keith Jarrett – The Impulse Years 1973-1974 (5 CD, 1997/FLAC)

Keith's killer quartet (with Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian) did their most powerful work for the Impulse label, and this 5-CD set presents it in its complete and digitally enhanced form for the first time ever! Nine of the 29 tracks have never been released, and three are classic tracks in their complete, unedited form for the first time. It's Keith Jarrett in his prime!

Miles Davis - The Cellar Door Sessions 1970 [6 CD, 2005/FLAC]

The Cellar Door Sessions 1970 is a 2005 reissue of several 1970 concerts given by Miles Davis, at the Washington, DC nightclub, The Cellar Door.

Significant portions of Davis' Live-Evil were edited and compiled from the music that appears on discs 5 and 6.

It is one of the few recordings that has Keith Jarrett playing electric piano. Live-Evil and this collection are the only live recordings of John McLaughlin live performances with Miles Davis.

  • Miles Davis: electric trumpet with Wah Wah
  • Gary Bartz: soprano and alto sax:
  • John McLaughlin: electric guitar (CDs 5-6 only)
  • Keith Jarrett: Fender Rhodes electric piano, Fender electric organ
  • Michael Henderson: electric bass
  • Jack DeJohnette: drums
  • Airto Moreira: percussion, Cuica (CDs 2-3-4-5-6)

Keith Jarrett feat. Jan Garbarek, Palle Danielsson & Jon Christensen - Belonging (1974/2015/FLAC-HD)

On Keith Jarrett's first recording with his "European" quartet -- Jan Garbarek (sax), Palle Danielsson (bass), Jon Christiensen (drums) -- he stakes out somewhat less abrasive territory than that which his "American" foursome was exploring at this time. Garbarek sports a neutral, vibratoless tone that occasionally reaches an emotional climax; the rhythm section is supportive and just loose enough. The record operates at its strongest level when Jarrett locks the quartet into his winning gospel mode on "'Long as You Know You're Living Yours" and the tense drive of "Spiral Dance"; the reflective numbers are less compelling. Still, this LP-turned-CD successfully bucked the powerful electric trends of its time and holds up well today.

  • Keith Jarrett, piano
  • Jan Garbarek, tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone
  • Palle Danielsson, bass
  • Jon Christensen, drums
Recorded April 24-25, 1974 at Studio Arne Bendiksen Studios, Oslo

02. Blossom (12:17)
03. Long As You Know You're Living Yours (6:17)

06. Solstice (13:18)

Miles Davis - The Lost Septet [2 CD, 2020]

Captured at the Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, The Lost Septet features Miles Davis accompanied by Gary Bartz, Keith Jarrett, Michael Henderson, Ndugu Leon Chancler, James Mtume Foreman and Charles Don Alias.

Davis toured Europe with this septet in 1971 — during his controversial, rock-oriented fusion era — but he never recorded with them in a studio. This concert was only previously broadcast on the radio.

Miles Davis - Live-Evil [2 CD, 1971/FLAC]

Live-Evil is one of Miles Davis' most confusing and illuminating documents. As a double album, it features very different settings of his band -- and indeed two very different bands. The double-LP CD package is an amalgam of a December 19, 1970, gig at the Cellar Door, which featured a band comprised of Miles, bassist Michael Henderson, drummer Jack DeJohnette, guitarist John McLaughlin, saxophonist Gary Bartz, Keith Jarrett on organ, and percussionist Airto. These tunes show a septet that grooved hard and fast, touching on the great funkiness that would come on later.

Keith Jarrett at the Blue Note : The Complete Recordings [6 CD, 1995/FLAC]

Keith Jarrett at the Blue Note The complete recordings is a 6-CD box set live album by Keith Jarrett's Standards Trio recorded at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City in 1994 and released by ECM Records in October 1995. Totaling more than seven hours of music (applause included), the multi-CD box documents the "complete" performances of a three-day / double-set Friday to Sunday stand.
